Security Infrastructure Support AWS Infrastructure and Cloud Security Support SME
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support AWS Infrastructure and Cloud Security Support SME to join their team! This position is located in Bethesday, Maryland.
Duties:
- Architect, deploy, and manage AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc. in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments
- Integrate AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP environments with on-premises security tools: Splunk, Cribl, Archer, etc. for monitoring and compliance
- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) workflows using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Implement DevSecOps practices, integrating security scanning and automation into build and release processes
- Manage cloud security operations, including continuous monitoring, log ingestion, alerting, and compliance reporting
- Provide cost optimization guidance for AWS services, including budgeting, billing analysis, reserved instance management, and rightsizing strategies
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical SOPs, compliance documentation, and reporting for federal stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate across multiple teams: Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, Application teams to ensure secure and efficient operations
- Serve as a subject matter expert to advise federal program managers, CORs, and technical teams on cloud security best practices and risk mitigation
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and security operations
- 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting, deploying, and managing AWS cloud services
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional preferred or equivalent CSP experience
- At least one security-related certification: CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty
- Proven expertise in hybrid cloud/on-premises architectures and integration with security tools
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
- Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices and integrating security into automated pipelines
- Hands-on experience with cloud security operations, monitoring, log ingestion, and compliance reporting
- Strong understanding of federal compliance frameworks: FISMA, NIST 800-53, OMB M-21-31
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder reporting skills
- Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams in complex, technical initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to create professional technical designs, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance documentation

The approximate pay range for this position is between $100.00 and $140.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
