Security Infrastructure Support Application Developer
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support Application Developer to join their team! This position is located in Bethesda, Maryland.
Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain web and backend applications that support cybersecurity and security operations
- Modernize and enhance legacy applications, particularly those built on JavaServer Pages (JSP) frameworks
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline data processing, integrations, and reporting
- Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure security is embedded throughout the build, test, and deployment lifecycle
- Support integration of applications and services across hybrid environments: on-prem and cloud
- Develop and consume SOAP and RESTful APIs to facilitate secure data exchange between systems
- Ensure all applications comply with federal cybersecurity frameworks such as FISMA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-92, OMB M-21-31, and CDM
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security hardening, access control, and vulnerability remediation
- Communicate complex technical and security concepts clearly to technical, business, and executive stakeholders
- Work closely with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams to support secure and efficient software delivery
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting IT systems in hybrid: on-prem and cloud environments
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or developing applications in secure environments
- Strong scripting and programming skills in Java, Python, SOAP API, and SQL
- Experience developing and modernizing legacy JavaServer Pages (JSP) applications
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts, services, and operations: AWS, Azure, O365, including application migration and hardening
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices, including secure code integration and automation in CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with full-stack or cloud-based web applications and related frameworks
- Hands-on experience with federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks: FISMA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-92, OMB M-21-31, CDM
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying root causes and resolving technical and security issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security and technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams in enterprise or federal environments

The approximate pay range for this position is between $80.00 and $110.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
