Security Infrastructure Support Senior Security Engineer
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support Senior Security Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Bethesda, Maryland.
Duties:
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise IT security systems across hybrid infrastructures on-premises and cloud
- Implement, configure, and administer cybersecurity tools and SIEM platforms to support threat detection and monitoring
- Develop and maintain secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, O365), including migrations and hardening
- Apply DevSecOps practices to integrate security into development, build, and deployment processes
- Create and maintain automation scripts and tools (Python preferred) for monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Support virtualization platforms and ensure secure configuration, monitoring, and maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to enhance security posture
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts
- Communicate complex security concepts and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership
- Ensure all systems and processes comply with federal cybersecurity frameworks, including FISMA, NIST, and CDM standards
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 10+ years of experience designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise IT systems
- 5+ years of experience at the Senior Engineer level or higher
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools or SIEM implementation and administration
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructures on-prem and cloud
- Strong familiarity with cloud security concepts, services, and operations (AWS, Azure, O365), including migration and security hardening
- Understanding of core virtualization technologies and secure configuration practices
- Knowledge and experience applying DevSecOps practices to security operations
- Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly Python
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical security concepts to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors

The approximate pay range for this position is between $95.00 and $125.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
