IT Project Manager - Finance
Job Summary
Our client, a leading airline company, is seeking an IT Project Manager (Finance) to drive strategic technology initiatives from planning through implementation. This role will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to manage Agile delivery, project governance, budgets, resources, risks, and executive communications while ensuring technology solutions align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent executive presentation skills, hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude, and the ability to confidently coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead technology initiatives by developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing timelines, and ensuring successful delivery
- Partner with business, technology, and user departments to translate organizational goals into actionable technology strategies and deliverables
- Manage Agile/Scrum delivery, including sprint cadence, backlog management, prioritization, dependency tracking, and cross-functional coordination
- Develop polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and leadership communications, clearly presenting project status, risks, decisions, and recommended actions
- Establish and maintain project governance, including budgets, resource plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive reporting
- Evaluate technology solutions and implementation outcomes through system reviews, audits, performance analysis, and stakeholder feedback
- Support information security, business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and technology control requirements
- Monitor project financials, forecast resource and budget requirements, analyze variances, and drive corrective actions as needed
- Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and service quality
- Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms to improve analysis, documentation, research, presentations, and day-to-day project execution
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders, providing concise recommendations and clear asks rather than simply reporting project status
- Maintain current knowledge of technology, Agile delivery practices, AI capabilities, and enterprise IT trends
Required Skills/Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Business Administration, or other related discipline.
- Advanced PowerPoint and executive presentation skills
- Agile/Scrum program delivery experience
- Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management
- Project planning, governance, risk, and budget management
- PMP, CSM, or SAFe certification
- Financial services or finance-function domain experience (accounting, controllership, treasury, or adjacent)
- RPA vs. AI / agentic AI architecture judgment (human-in-the-loop design, shadow-mode testing, phased rollout gating)

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $45.00 and $65.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
