This is a contract opportunity located in Chicago, IL, supporting customer-focused marketing and communications initiatives across digital and print channels. This role is ideal for a creative professional who excels at transforming complex information into visually engaging, easy-to-understand communications while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact campaigns that align with brand standards and business objectives.
Core Responsibilities
- Design visually compelling customer communications for digital and print channels, including instructional content, customer updates, and marketing materials
- Collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, marketing partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders to develop integrated creative campaigns
- Translate complex information into clear, accessible visual designs that improve customer understanding and engagement
- Adapt creative solutions to evolving business priorities, project timelines, and stakeholder feedback
- Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously while taking ownership of timelines, deliverables, and project execution
- Apply and maintain brand identity, design standards, and messaging guidelines across all customer communications
- Make informed creative decisions using customer insights, past experience, and design best practices
- Produce high-quality creative work with exceptional attention to detail while consistently meeting deadlines
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness
- Present creative concepts and clearly articulate design rationale to internal partners and stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience with a strong creative portfolio
- 4+ years of experience developing creative assets for digital and traditional marketing channels
- 2+ years of experience designing for web, mobile, and social platforms
- Expert proficiency with Figma
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
- InDesign
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Basic understanding of UX design principles
- Basic knowledge of print production processes and printer specifications
- Strong presentation and visual communication skills
- 6+ years of experience developing creative for digital and traditional marketing channels
- 4+ years of experience designing for web, mobile, and social platforms
- Experience working within established design systems and templates
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary creative and marketing teams
- Strong understanding of customer-centered design and communication principles
- Strong visual design and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Adaptable and comfortable working through changing priorities and feedback
- Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of projects from concept through execution
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for creating clear, engaging communications
- Location: Chicago, Illinois
- Duration: Approximately 10 months
- Pay Rate: Approximately $35.00 to $39.00 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
