Our client, a leading energy provider, is seeking a Financial Analyst II – Project Intake Analyst to join their team. This role will support the evaluation, coordination, and governance of software and IT-related capital projects by reviewing intake requests, validating documentation, and ensuring accurate financial classification.
Contract Details
- Contract-to-hire opportunity through August 6, 2027
- Location: Roseville, Minnesota
- Work Model: Hybrid
Core Responsibilities
- Review and validate project intake requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies
- Coordinate projects through intake, approval, routing, and governance processes
- Evaluate software and IT projects to determine appropriate Capital Expenditure (CapEx) versus Operational Expenditure (OpEx) treatment
- Review Statements of Work, project deliverables, costs, and supporting documentation
- Partner with IT, Finance, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate project classification
- Maintain records and supporting documentation for governance, audit, and reporting purposes
- Identify opportunities to improve project intake processes, workflows, and operational efficiency
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in project support, project coordination, business analysis, PMO support, IT governance, finance operations, or a related function
- Experience supporting software and/or hardware IT projects
- Understanding of CapEx versus OpEx principles and financial governance practices
- Experience reviewing project documentation and coordinating project intake activities
- Proficiency with Jira, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience with fixed assets, capital project management, or capital project budgeting
- Knowledge of software capitalization policies and related governance standards
- Experience working within a project intake, portfolio management, or PMO organization
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, or financial reporting activities
- Familiarity with automation or AI-enabled tools used to improve business processes
- Knowledge of software implementation practices and the IT project lifecycle
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Work Environment
- Location: Roseville, Minnesota
- Work Model: Hybrid
- Schedule: Onsite Tuesday through Thursday and remote Monday and Friday
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $32.00 and $47.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
