Legal Assistant
Job Summary
Our client, leader utility provider, is looking for a candidate who has been a previous Legal Assistant or Legal Admin before, supporting litigation. Regulatory experience preferred- if someone worked in the legal department of a utility company. Looking for someone who understands formatting of legal documents, someone who has experience with SharePoint and possibly iManage Repository.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support to Paralegals and Legal Department personnel
- Assist with drafting, formatting, proofreading, and managing legal documents, including interrogatories and standard templates
- Coordinate meetings, maintain calendars, and track litigation-related deadlines
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents within SharePoint, iManage, or similar document management systems
- Support case management activities and ensure timely handling of legal correspondence and documentation
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- High School Diploma required; Paralegal education, certification, or equivalent experience is a plus
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Administrative Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or similar legal support role
- Strong litigation support experience required; experience in a regulatory environment or utility industry preferred
- Experience preparing, formatting, proofreading, and managing legal documents, including interrogatories, pleadings, and legal templates
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems such as SharePoint, iManage, or similar platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate, degree, or equivalent legal support experience
- Prior experience within a utility company, regulated industry, or corporate legal department
- Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, litigation, or administrative law matters
- Familiarity with legal document management, records retention, and electronic filing systems
- Working knowledge of legal terminology, litigation processes, and court filing procedures

Work Environment
- Location: Los Angeles, CA
- Hybrid – 4 days a week onsite
- Hours 8/8:30 - 5/5:30 PM PST
- 6 month contract, intent to convert FTE
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $20.00 and $29.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
