Contingent Labor Specialist
Job Summary
Our client, a leading communications provider, is seeking a Contingent Labor Specialist to join their team! This is an early-career, relationship-driven position supporting the daily operations of a large contingent labor program. The Contingent Labor Specialist will work closely with hiring managers, staffing suppliers, contingent workers, and internal business partners throughout the contractor lifecycle. This could be a great next step for someone with staffing agency, recruiting, HR, or workforce operations experience who wants to transition from traditional recruiting into program operations.
This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Support hiring managers with contingent labor requests, including job postings, candidate submissions, onboarding, assignment changes, extensions, and offboarding
- Conduct intake conversations with hiring managers to understand their needs and guide them through the contingent hiring process
- Serve as a liaison between hiring managers, staffing suppliers, contingent workers, and internal business partners
- Manage job postings and contractor information within a Vendor Management System
- Train hiring managers on VMS processes, program procedures, and documentation requirements
- Maintain accurate records related to contractor assignments, onboarding requirements, extensions, and end dates
- Monitor compliance documentation and follow up when information is missing or overdue
- Help hiring managers determine which staffing suppliers may be best suited for their needs
- Respond to questions and troubleshoot basic process or system issues
- Navigate difficult conversations and help resolve concerns between business partners and staffing suppliers
- Compile program data, prepare summaries, and track key performance indicators
- Participate in process improvement efforts that strengthen program operations
- Escalate complex issues to senior team members when additional guidance is needed
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- 1+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, HR operations, workforce management, or a related area
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence communicating by phone, email, and virtual meetings
- Ability to build relationships with hiring managers, staffing suppliers, and internal partners
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling conflict, asking questions, and adjusting as business needs change
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience working for a staffing agency or supporting contract staffing
- Exposure to a Managed Service Provider or contingent workforce program
- Experience working within a Vendor Management System, such as SAP Fieldglass
- Familiarity with contractor onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and assignment management
- Experience supporting hiring managers or working with external staffing suppliers
- Basic reporting and KPI tracking experience

Work Environment
- Location: Denver, CO
- Hybrid: 4 days onsite
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $28.00 and $40.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
