Advisor, IT Network Development

Job Summary
Our client, a leading technology provider, is seeking an Advisor, IT Network Development to join their team! This position is a 5-month contract with onsite opportunities in Hopkinton, MA and Franklin, MA.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies 
• Develop and implement network automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting 
• Manage and optimize network performance, availability, and security across data center and campus environments 
• Automate routine network operations using scripting and orchestration tools 
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration and deployment efforts 
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures and participate in change management and continuous improvement initiatives 

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience 
• 5+ years of network engineering experience 
• Strong expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, including VLANs, VRRP, MC-LAG, STP, VTP, PortChannel, OSPF, and BGP 
• Demonstrated proficiency with network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar scripting and automation frameworks 
• Strong enterprise network design and troubleshooting experience 
• Experience with REST APIs and network programmability concepts 
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security fundamentals 

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with Dell networking platforms 
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, and/or Juniper networking platforms 
• Experience supporting network infrastructure across data center and campus environments 
• Experience with network vulnerability and security risk assessments 
• Experience with network performance monitoring and capacity planning 
• Experience coordinating network deployments across cross-functional teams and vendors

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $38.00 and $55.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
