Financial Reporting Consultant

Job Summary
Our client, a financial services provider, is seeking a Financial Reporting Consultant to support the preparation, review, and filing of investment company financial statements and regulatory reports. This role will partner closely with internal teams, auditors, and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements, and timely completion of annual audits and filings. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in asset management financial reporting, SEC reporting, derivatives accounting, and fund financial statement preparation.

Contract Details

• Contract Duration: October 6, 2026 - December 24, 2026
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days onsite (Monday-Wednesday)

Core Responsibilities

• Review fund financial statements, schedules of investments, and supporting documentation for registered and non-registered investment funds
• Coordinate and draft notes to financial statements for annual and semiannual shareholder reports
• Support annual audit activities and serve as a liaison between internal teams and external audit firms
• Assist with management of reporting cycles, deadlines, and client deliverables to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Review reporting output and filings to ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards
• Serve as a technical resource for financial reporting staff regarding derivatives, new investment products, accounting treatments, and auditor inquiries
• Provide guidance on U.S. GAAP requirements, including ASC 815 and ASC 820
• Assist with operational oversight of financial reporting engagements and day-to-day client support

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of recent experience in financial reporting within the asset management or financial services industry, or public accounting supporting asset management clients
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation and review
• Experience with SEC reporting and regulatory filings
• Deep understanding of derivatives accounting and related reporting requirements
• Experience reviewing annual and semiannual fund financial statements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience (3+ years preferred)
• Experience with Global InvestOne
• Experience with Bloomberg and other financial reporting platforms
• Knowledge of registered and non-registered investment fund structures

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and $58.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
