Our client is seeking a Testing Analyst to support software quality assurance across functional, integration, and performance testing cycles for our client. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including developers, business analysts, and product owners — to ensure that software solutions meet defined requirements and quality standards before delivery. You will be expected to contribute to test planning, execution, and reporting while building strong relationships with business clients and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the testing lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze, review, and assess user requirements, specifications, and functional designs for testability
- Actively participate in functional and technical specification meetings to understand business requirements and implementation approach
- Contribute to test effort estimation, test design specifications, test case specifications, and test procedure specifications
- Define test cycles and establish cycle entry and exit criteria
- Develop test plans and test scripts — including conditions and expected results — in accordance with IT standards
- Participate in peer reviews of test plans from other team members
- Coordinate test environment setup with cross-functional teams
- Prepare and create test data to thoroughly validate program logic and verify system flow
- Execute tests across all applicable levels (functional, system integration, and performance), document results, evaluate outcomes, and log deviations from expected behavior
- Evaluate feasibility of test automation; leverage available automation tools for performance testing where applicable
- Create test summary reports and risk analyses for business client acceptance
- Provide consulting expertise for applications and software being tested by others as needed
- Regularly report on testing status, with emphasis on items that could impact product delivery
- Learn and operate automated test tools for product, regression, or performance testing
- Train and assist team members in the use of test tools
- Engage test tool support teams as needed and document best practices and FAQs for tool usage
- Administer, manage, and monitor test progress throughout the project lifecycle
- Apply test administration, management, and monitoring tools as required
- Apply project management methodologies to plan, estimate, schedule, and control testing phases
- Build and maintain positive, proactive relationships with business clients
- Develop a working understanding of clients' business needs and provide ongoing consultation and testing support
- Keep clients informed of testing progress and surface risks proactively
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- 1+ year(s) of experience in information technology or business environments
- Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into thorough, well-structured test cases
- Hands-on experience executing functional, system integration, and performance tests
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to document deviations clearly
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL querying
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with test management tools such as Quality Center or equivalent
- Ability to learn and operate automated testing tools for regression and performance testing
- Strong oral and written communication skills; able to clearly report status and risks to stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with teams from different disciplines and organizational levels
- Experience working with supervision on routine assignments; comfortable receiving guidance from senior testers on higher-complexity work
- Participation in projects of low to medium complexity
- ISTQB Tester Certification (functional test analysts) or equivalent IT/business-specific training
- General business understanding and knowledge of the functional area supported
- Experience working in regulated or financial services environments

- Standard work week: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week (California or Federal Overtime applicable)

- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $36.00 and $57.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
