Software Support Engineer
Job Summary
Our client, a major communication services provider, is seeking a Software Support Engineer that will analyze logs and data from platforms and hardware using tools such as Splunk, Kibana, and OpenSearch.
Core Responsibilities
- The team’s responsibility is to triage and analyze issues through logs, then route them to the appropriate development team for resolution
- The focus is on troubleshooting, log analysis, and technical triage, with high interaction across engineering groups
- Triage and troubleshoot escalated issues to identify the root cause and determine the appropriate DEV team for resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure efficient handoff of issues
- Provide clear and consistent communication on status, findings, and resolutions
- Participate in an on-call rotation (approx. once every 8 weeks, including weekends). Offshore teams handle nights, and overall call volume is low
- Stay adaptable to frequent process updates and operational changes, applying new procedures week to week
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- 3+ years of professional experience in a software engineering or technical support role.
- Development background in Python or Java (for technical depth, though coding will not be performed daily).
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, Kibana, OpenSearch, and AWS.
- Proven ability to work with large-scale logs and diagnose complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills — must be personable, collaborative, and able to build relationships across teams.
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Prior video technology experience (commercial video platforms, streaming services, set-top box technology) strongly preferred.
- Energetic, adaptable, and proactive problem solver.
- Not just technically strong but also easy to work with and highly collaborative.
- Comfortable in a fast-changing environment where adaptability and memory of evolving processes are critical.
Work Environment
- Location: Greenwood Village, CO
- Work Model: Hybrid, 4 days onsite
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $71,000 and $102,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
