Pegasystems Senior Software Engineer
Our client, a leading Financial Services provider, is seeking a Pegasystems Senior Software Engineer to join their team. Senior or Lead Pega Systems Architect to drive the design, development, and modernization of our enterprise customer engagement and collections platforms. In this role, you will take full-stack ownership of high-performance products, write production-ready code, and lead a team of three or more engineers. You will leverage Pega Infinity 8.x and cutting-edge AI-powered decisioning to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions in a cloud-native financial services environment.
This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products
- Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
- Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
- Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
- Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards
- Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
- Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards
- Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank's technology transformation
- Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery. Anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Pega Infinity 8.x or greater, including CPM and Collections frameworks
- Deep expertise in AI-powered customer engagement, adaptive decisioning, and predictive analytics
- Strong background in object-oriented programming (Java or .NET)
- Hands-on experience with Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or PegaCloud)
- Extensive experience with integration protocols (Web Services, WSDL, SOAP, JMS, REST, GraphQL) and Tibco middleware
- Database connectivity experience with IBM UDB 10.X+ and PostgreSQL
- Server administration and tuning experience with Tomcat and IBM WebSphere
- Pega CSSA (Certified Senior System Architect) or LSA (Lead System Architect) certification
- Proven experience executing complex Pega migrations
- Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka / streaming integrations)
- Experience with AWS telephony integrations (IVR, Screen-Pop, chat, softphone)
- Prior background in the financial services industry (specifically credit cards and collections)
- Design, develop, test, and operate secure, scalable products using architectural best practices
- Lead, mentor, and conduct rigorous peer code reviews for a team of 3+ engineers
- Implement AI-powered customer engagement, adaptive decisioning, predictive analytics, and Agentic AI
- Own the Pega Deployment Manager CI/CD pipeline and manage deployments across AWS, PegaCloud, or Kubernetes
- Define integration standards and build reusable API frameworks using REST, GraphQL, Kafka, and Tibco middleware
- Critically review, size, and prioritize sprint tasks to ensure incremental delivery while proactively mitigating blockers
- Location: Open to Minneapolis, Denver, Irving, Atlanta and Brookfield, WI
- Hybrid, 3 days a week in office
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $54.00 and $77.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
