Job Summary
Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a remote contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a highly skilled backend engineer with strong Golang expertise who enjoys designing scalable systems, building cloud-native applications, and developing robust microservices architectures. The successful candidate will contribute to modern backend platforms leveraging AWS, Docker, MySQL, and Golang to deliver secure, high-performance, enterprise-scale solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Golang
• Architect high-performance applications with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions
• Develop and optimize MySQL database schemas, queries, and performance
• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment pipelines
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot cloud-based applications within AWS environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions
• Participate in system design discussions and technical architecture reviews
• Develop testing strategies and execute system testing procedures
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence
• Follow Agile development practices to deliver high-quality software iteratively
• Implement security best practices across application and infrastructure layers

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years of hands-on Golang development experience
• Strong experience designing and developing scalable backend services
• Advanced knowledge of MySQL database design, optimization, and administration
• Experience architecting distributed systems and microservices solutions
• Hands-on experience with Docker containerization
• Experience deploying and managing applications within AWS environments
• Strong understanding of API design principles and service integration
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems
• Knowledge of software security best practices
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum development environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) 

• Experience with PHP development and legacy system integrations
• Healthcare industry experience
• Payments or financial services industry experience
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI DSS, and PII compliance requirements
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience supporting highly available and mission-critical applications

  • 30-minute Hiring Manager interview via Microsoft Teams
  • One-hour technical interview

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $47.00 and $68.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
