SDET - Playwright
Job Summary
Our client, a Global Food Retail Brand, is seeking a SDET to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable test automation for their ServiceNow Platform. You will leverage Playwright’s capabilities and build test suite for this platform. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset are essential.
This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated test solutions using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Build and maintain reusable testing frameworks and utilities for authentication (OAuth2/JWT), pagination, idempotency, rate limiting, and error handling
- Define and implement test strategies across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing, ensuring coverage of critical business workflows
- Develop negative, edge-case, resilience, and recovery test scenarios to validate system reliability and performance
- Manage test data, fixtures, and environments to ensure tests remain reliable, deterministic, and efficient
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, enabling scalable and parallel test execution
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews, advocating for quality, testability, and engineering best practices
- Create and maintain documentation, including testing frameworks, standards, patterns, and operational runbooks
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and contribute as a trusted and dependable team member
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- 3+ years in SDET/QA Automation roles focused on Playwright tool
- Hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript or any similar tools/frameworks
- Understanding of ServiceNow is preferrable
- Experience in CI/CD configuring pipelines, test reporting, and gating on failures/coverage
- Familiarity with mocking and test data management
- Solid debugging skills across logs, traces, and network traffic
- Comfort with curl and CLI tooling
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Work Environment
- Location: Columbus, OH
- Hybrid – 4 days onsite
- Contract – 6 months
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $56.00 and $80.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
