Network Security Application Support (NSAS) Engineer

Job Summary
Our client, a major financial services provider, is seeking a Network Security Application Support (NSAS) Engineer to join a 24x7 Network Security Operations team supporting critical enterprise infrastructure. This role is ideal for a hands-on network and security engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex incidents, supporting large-scale environments, and utilizing automation to improve operational efficiency. The engineer will support a broad portfolio of network and security technologies, respond to incidents, investigate alerts, and help onboard new applications and domains into the enterprise support model. 

This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

• Work Model: Primarily remote 

Core Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to network and security incidents generated through automated alerting platforms
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues involving VPN connectivity, network outages, web application security, and enterprise infrastructure
• Support technologies including GlobalProtect, Palo Alto, Akamai, F5, WAF platforms, and bot protection solutions
• Analyze logs and metrics using observability platforms to identify root causes and recommend solutions
• Escalate application-related issues to appropriate engineering and support teams
• Document remediation activities, incident findings, and resolution steps
• Support onboarding of new domains and applications into the operational support model
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and incident response
• Participate in a collaborative shift-based support environment supporting critical business systems

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong background in Network Engineering and Network Security
• Experience supporting enterprise security environments and responding to production incidents
• Python scripting and automation experience
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as: Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, Observe
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities
• Experience working within a 24x7 production support environment
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across distributed teams

Work Environment

• Location: Plano, TX
• Work Model: Primarily remote (Must reside in the Plano, TX area and be available for occasional onsite meetings and team activities).
• Schedule: Third Shift | 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM CT

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $56.00 and $80.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
