Software Engineer

Job Summary
Our client, a leading Technology provider, is seeking a Software Engineer to help build and maintain the core data platform that powers its product. In this role, your work will directly impact platform performance, reliability, and the overall user experience. You’ll develop scalable backend services, solve distributed systems challenges, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to support the next generation of applications.

This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role. 

Contract Details

• Location: Remote – United States
• Anticipated Start Date: October 12, 2026 (3-month contract position) 
• Equipment: Candidates must provide a personal laptop

Core Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services for next-generation applications using Kotlin and Java
• Solve distributed systems challenges while working with modern cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Kubernetes
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions with software engineers and product managers
• Mentor junior engineers on code quality and industry best practices
• Partner closely with product management and key business stakeholders
• Help maintain the core data platform, supporting performance, reliability, and the user experience

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of software development experience building highly scalable, highly available applications
• 2+ years of programming experience with full-stack technologies, such as Java or Kotlin
• 2+ years of experience working with cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure
• Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) 

• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience solving distributed systems challenges
• Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services
• Experience participating in architectural discussions and code reviews
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $37.00 and $54.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
