Digital Designer (UX & Creative)
Job Summary
Our client, one of the largest mutual life insurance companies in the United States, is seeking a Digital Designer (UX & Creative). This role is ideal for an early-career designer with a passion for digital design, user experience, and emerging AI-powered design tools. The Digital Designer will support a broad range of initiatives across web, marketing, media, and product design, while helping enhance and scale the organization's Figma-based design system. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the delivery of innovative, user-centered digital experiences.

- Interview Process: Two rounds, primarily virtual, with potential final onsite interview
Core Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality digital design assets in Figma, including web pages, landing pages, emails, banners, and marketing materials
- Convert and rebuild legacy Adobe XD files into structured Figma files aligned with current design system standards
- Apply UX best practices to create intuitive, accessible, and user-centered experiences
- Support customer journey mapping, UX workflows, and A/B testing initiatives
- Contribute to the maintenance, enhancement, and expansion of the organization's design system
- Ensure creative assets comply with brand, legal, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a strong attention to detail throughout the review process
- Leverage AI-powered design and productivity tools, including Figma Make, Figma Agents, ChatGPT, and Claude, to improve design efficiency and prototyping
- Collaborate with Creative Directors, UX professionals, content teams, and business stakeholders to deliver polished digital experiences
- Participate in design reviews, feedback sessions, and continuous learning opportunities
- Support routing, proofing, and production release processes for digital creative assets
- Take ownership of increasingly complex projects as skills and experience develop
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- Portfolio demonstrating digital design, web design, UX/UI design, graphic design, or marketing creative work
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including component-based design and design system usage
- Understanding of web and website design principles
- Working knowledge of UX fundamentals, customer experience design, and user flows
- Experience working within a design system or following established design standards
- Strong visual design skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to identify inconsistencies, missing requirements, and opportunities for design improvement
- Familiarity with AI-powered design and productivity tools
- Effective communication skills and willingness to collaborate within a team environment
Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Design, UX, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field
- Experience using Figma Make, Figma Agents, or similar AI-assisted design tools
- Exposure to customer journey mapping, UX research, or A/B testing initiatives
- Experience rebuilding, migrating, or modernizing legacy design assets
- Familiarity with regulated or compliance-focused environments
- Experience supporting direct-to-consumer digital marketing initiatives
- Experience can come from internships, freelance work, academic projects, agency work, or professional employment
- Less emphasis is placed on years of experience; candidates with strong portfolios and demonstrated design ability are strongly encouraged to apply

Work Environment
- Location: Tampa, FL
- Work Model: Hybrid
- Schedule: Monday & Friday remote; Tuesday-Thursday onsite
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $35.00 and $50.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
