This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from initiation through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects, driving change management initiatives, facilitating process improvements, and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. This position requires a strategic project leader with strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills who can effectively manage project scope, timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects, driving change management initiatives, facilitating process improvements, and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. This position requires a strategic project leader with strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills who can effectively manage project scope, timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the complete project lifecycle from project definition through implementation
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Drive project milestones and ensure delivery against agreed-upon scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
- Establish and execute effective communication plans with project teams and key stakeholders
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to project resources
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Lead change management efforts throughout project execution
- Prepare and deliver project documentation, status reports, executive updates, and budget reports
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance project outcomes
- Ensure project governance standards and best practices are consistently followed
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 8+ years of project management experience
- PMP Certification required
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects
- Strong experience in change management and organizational transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvement efforts
- Advanced project planning and execution skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel, and Word
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise initiatives
- Experience working within utility, energy, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with project governance and portfolio management frameworks
- Experience leading cross-functional and matrixed teams
- Knowledge of risk management and project financial management practices
- Proven leadership and team collaboration skills
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- High level of accountability and ownership
- Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Location: San Diego, CA
- Onsite Requirement: 100% onsite, 5 days per week
- Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Duration: 52-week contract
- Contract Dates: September 7, 2026 – September 6, 2027
- Equipment: Provided by client
- Interview Process: Two rounds, both conducted in panel format
- Conversion: Not expected to convert to full-time employment
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $66.00 and $95.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
