Our client, a leading organization in the transportation industry, is seeking a Program Manager III to join their team. This role is responsible for driving integrated program planning, governance, executive reporting, and cross-functional coordination across multiple workstreams. The ideal candidate will have extensive program management experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to translate complex project information into executive-ready presentations and status reporting.
- Contract Type: Contract (30 weeks, with potential extension)
- Work Location: Remote (Chicago-based assignment)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
- Travel: None anticipated
- Develop and maintain an integrated master program plan, including milestones, dependencies, critical path activities, and cross-functional handoffs
- Establish and manage program risk and issue registers, including mitigation planning, ownership tracking, and escalation processes
- Consolidate updates from multiple workstreams into executive-level status reports and dashboards
- Standardize reporting metrics, templates, governance routines, and program documentation across teams
- Identify and manage cross-workstream dependencies, execution risks, and timeline impacts while driving issue resolution
- Create executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and leadership materials for weekly reviews, governance meetings, and steering committees
- Facilitate governance forums by coordinating agendas, tracking action items, documenting decisions, and ensuring follow-through
- 7+ years of program management, PMO, or portfolio management experience within complex, cross-functional environments
- Experience building and managing integrated program plans across multiple workstreams
- Strong expertise in program governance, risk management, issue tracking, dependency management, and escalation processes
- Advanced PowerPoint skills with experience developing executive-level presentations and reporting materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Experience consolidating large volumes of project information into concise executive summaries and status reports
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail
- PMP certification or similar project/program management certification
- Cybersecurity-related certifications or experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives
- Experience facilitating Steering Committees (SteerCos), executive reviews, or governance forums
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide transformation programs or strategic initiatives
- Experience working within large, highly matrixed organizations
- Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies for meeting documentation and action tracking
- Experience standardizing reporting frameworks, governance processes, and performance metrics across multiple teams
- Highly structured and disciplined approach to managing complex programs and competing priorities
- Strong business judgment with the ability to distill complex information into actionable executive insights
- Proactive and accountable, with the ability to drive follow-up and resolution across stakeholders
- Effective relationship builder capable of influencing and coordinating across cross-functional teams
- Polished communicator with strong executive presence and presentation capabilities
- Location: Remote (Chicago-based assignment)
- Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $55.00 and $65.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
