Data Analyst IV
Job Summary
Our client, a leading energy and utilities provider, is seeking an experienced Data Analyst IV to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on transforming complex data into meaningful insights through advanced analysis, reporting, and dashboard development. The ideal candidate will leverage expertise in Power BI, SQL, Excel, Smartsheet, and relational databases to deliver actionable business intelligence, optimize reporting processes, and provide analytical support to key stakeholders. Contract Details
- Duration: 52-week contract
- Contract Dates: September 7, 2026 – September 6, 2027
- Equipment: Provided by client
- Interview Process: Two rounds, conducted in panel format
Core Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, validate, and report on complex business and operational data
- Design, test, and document reporting processes, SQL queries, and stored procedures
- Extract and analyze data from multiple sources, including databases, manual files, and external systems
- Develop, launch, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
- Create and publish recurring and ad hoc reports for business stakeholders
- Document reporting requirements, business rules, and data processes
- Respond to data requests and inquiries across the organization
- Validate data integrity and ensure reporting accuracy
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify reporting opportunities and process improvements
- Deliver actionable insights through data visualization and business intelligence tools
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles
- Advanced Power BI dashboard development experience
- Strong reporting and analytics experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Experience using Smartsheet for reporting, tracking, and project-related activities
- Strong SQL skills, including query development and data extraction
- Experience working with relational databases
- Experience documenting processes, reporting requirements, and data workflows
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholder groups
Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience supporting enterprise-level reporting initiatives
- Experience developing stored procedures and complex database queries
- Knowledge of data validation and quality assurance best practices
- Experience supporting utility, energy, or highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with business intelligence and statistical analysis tools

Work Environment
- Location: San Diego, CA
- Onsite Requirement: 100% onsite, 5 days per week
- Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $66.00 and $95.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
