Our client, a leading utilities provider, is seeking a Contract Specialist to join their team.
Key details
- Contract type and duration: Contract – 6 Months
- Work location: St Louis MO
- This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role
- Support the full contract lifecycle management process, partnering closely with Supply Chain, Legal, Business Units, and external counterparties to facilitate the development, review, negotiation, execution, administration, and maintenance of contracts for goods and services
- Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders and Legal, ensuring contract requests are accurate, compliant, documented, and efficiently progressed through the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system
- Manage contract requests, amendments, assignments, renewals, terminations, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) through the full contract lifecycle process
- Review submitted contract requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Coordinate contract review and redlining activities among Legal, Supply Chain, business stakeholders, and counterparties
- Facilitate contract negotiations by managing comments, redlines, approvals, and communications with internal and external parties
- Maintain accurate contract records, supplier information, and support documentation within the CLM system
- Monitor contract status, track progress, identify bottlenecks, and escalate risks, delays, or unresolved issues
- Support contract compliance activities, including supplier risk reviews, policy adherence, and required stakeholder approvals
- Respond to stakeholder inquiries regarding contract status, process requirements, and contracting best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal operations experience required
- 3+ years of experience in commercial contracting, paralegal support, legal operations, procurement, supply chain, compliance, or contract administration
- Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, redlining, and administering commercial contracts
- Knowledge of contract lifecycle management systems and electronic contract repositories; Icertis preferred
- Familiarity with commercial legal terminology and contract provisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and related business systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Proven ability to work effectively with Legal, Supply Chain, business stakeholders, and external counterparties
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and process improvement capabilities
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $35.00 and $45.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
