Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their Quality Engineering team. This role is ideal for an automation testing professional with expertise in Java, Selenium, and REST Assured who is passionate about building scalable test automation frameworks and improving software quality. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative Agile environment and enjoys driving automation initiatives across UI and API testing.
Key Details:
- Contract: 18-week contract
- Duration: August 23, 2026 – December 26, 2026
- Location: Hopkins, MN or Denver, CO
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
- Design, develop, and execute automated UI test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java
- Build and maintain scalable API automation frameworks using REST Assured
- Develop reusable and maintainable test automation frameworks that support long-term quality initiatives
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to define testing strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing across web applications and APIs
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed reporting while continuously improving automation processes and best practices
- Strong programming experience with Java
- Hands-on experience using Selenium WebDriver for UI automation
- Experience performing API testing with REST Assured
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit
- Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, JSON, and XML
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or other modern UI automation frameworks
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
- Experience using API testing tools such as Karate, Postman/Newman, or SuperTest
- Exposure to next-generation automation tools and testing methodologies
- Performance testing experience using JMeter, Gatling, or similar tools
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns such as Page Object Model
- Experience participating in code reviews and promoting automation best practices
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional Agile teams
- Passion for software quality, automation, and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and scalable automation code
- Location: Hopkins, MN or Denver, CO
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $52.00 and $57.93 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, experience, and location. We comply with all applicable local wage requirements.
