Job Summary
Our energy & utility industry client is looking for an IT Product Specialist I to join their IT Operations Tools Team on a 26-week contract. This person will serve as the quality gatekeeper for an internal telecom network planning and design platform, making sure engineering submissions are accurately documented and maintained to standard. The role sits inside a NOC/telecom ops environment and requires someone who understands how network elements are designed, documented, and managed at the enterprise level. W2 candidates preferred.

The role sits inside a NOC/telecom ops environment and requires someone who understands how network elements are designed, documented, and managed at the enterprise level. W2 candidates preferred.
Core Responsibilities
- Audit Network Resource Process submissions for accuracy and completeness against documentation standards
- Review and validate network designs including connections, devices, locations, and attributes
- Build connection paths from technical drawings, spreadsheets, and other source documentation
- Maintain CI views, relationship mapping, and configuration records inside the platform
- Process clearance changes and communicate outcomes to responsible parties
- Coordinate with network specialists, engineers, and technicians to resolve design and documentation issues
- Mentor and train engineers, drafters, and technicians on platform best practices and data governance
- 4+ years in a NOC or IT Network and Telecom Operations environment
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Experience working inside an OSS platform (Ericsson ENM, Nokia NetAct, Oracle Communications, Bentley OpenUtilities, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret telecom technical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with telecom technologies such as SONET, DWDM, Microwave, or IP/Ethernet
- Experience with CI or configuration management in a network context
- Experience with discovery and reconciliation processes in a network ops environment
- Background in a utility or NERC-regulated environment
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT ticketing platforms
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows application support
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as SNMP, SSH, JDBC, or SNMP
- BA/BS degree in electrical engineering technology, telecommunications, computer science, or related field
- Experience mentoring or training junior engineers, drafters, or technicians
- Knowledge of ITIL processes particularly around configuration and discovery management
- High attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset
- Strong cross-functional communicator comfortable working with engineers, architects, drafters, and project teams
- Able to enforce documentation standards and push back when submissions do not meet requirements
- Self-sufficient and able to manage a queue of engineering submissions independently
- Comfortable working in a structured, compliance-driven environment
- Location: Onsite - Fairfield, CA
- Schedule: Standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $39 and $56. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
