Our global technology and hardware client is seeking an Advisor, Material Planning for a 6-month onsite contract in Austin, TX. This role sits inside the supply chain organization and owns the demand-supply relationship for an assigned set of products. Our global technology and hardware client is seeking an Advisor, Material Planning for a 6-month onsite contract in Austin, TX. This role sits inside the supply chain organization and owns the demand-supply relationship for an assigned set of products. The planner is responsible for translating customer and financial demand into actionable forecasts, maintaining continuity of supply, managing supply imbalances, and supporting product launches and transitions.
Core Responsibilities
- Translate customer and financial demand requirements into actionable forecasts for operations and procurement
- Monitor demand consumption rates and flag supply issues early with mitigation options ready
- Work supply imbalances -- both excess and shortage -- with supply chain partners to resolve quickly and cost-effectively
- Maintain continuity of supply for assigned products to keep lead times within standard
- Align forecast assumptions with segment forecasters and deliver the full Forecast Assumptions package
- Support product launches and transitions to prevent delivery delays and excess/obsolete inventory risk
- Analyze supply-demand data and present findings and recommendations to team and leadership
- Hands-on demand planning, supply planning, or material planning experience in a hardware, tech, or manufacturing environment
- Forecasting experience: building, maintaining, and aligning demand forecasts with business stakeholders
- Supply-demand analysis: identifying imbalances, driving resolution, managing supply risk
- BOM (Bill of Materials) familiarity: understanding how component-level changes impact product availability and lead time
- Product lifecycle knowledge: RTS dates, EOML timelines, product transitions, and E&O risk management
- Cross-functional collaboration experience with procurement, operations, and product or segment teams
- Experience at a comparable hardware OEM (HP, Lenovo, Apple, Seagate, Flex, Jabil, or similar)
- ERP or supply chain planning tool experience (SAP IBP, o9, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar)
- Commodity management exposure
- Experience building or executing demand shaping programs
- Familiarity with lead time elasticity and how to incorporate it into forecasting decisions
- Experience presenting supply-demand analysis and recommendations to leadership
- Analytically strong, comfortable working with large datasets and translating findings into clear recommendations
- Proactive communicator -- flags supply risk early and comes with mitigation options, not just problems
- Cross-functional collaborator -- works effectively across procurement, ops, product, and segment teams
- Detail oriented with strong follow-through on supply monitoring and forecast maintenance
- Self-directed and able to manage multiple product sets and workstreams without heavy oversight
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving supply chain environment where priorities shift
- Location: Austin, TX
- Schedule: Fully onsite
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $22.00 and $26.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
