The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of materials, products, and services in support of customer commitments and internal production schedules. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, purchasing, operations, logistics, and sales to proactively manage lead times, resolve delays, and support on-time performance.

Our client a leading retail & consumer goods provider is seeking a Expeditor to join their team! This position is located in Chesterfield, Missouri.
The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of materials, products, and services in support of customer commitments and internal production schedules. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, purchasing, operations, logistics, and sales to proactively manage lead times, resolve delays, and support on-time performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor open purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure materials are delivered on time and in accordance with contractual terms
- Communicate with suppliers regarding status, shipment schedules, and potential delays
- Expedite critical orders to support customer delivery requirements and operational priorities
- Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Logistics teams to resolve delivery issues, shortages, or non-conformances
- Track and update order status in ERP and related systems, ensuring accurate and timely data
- Identify risks to delivery schedules and escalate issues with recommended solutions
- Support supplier performance management by documenting delivery performance and recurring issues
- Coordinate logistics, including freight arrangements and documentation
- Maintain organized records related to expediting activities, correspondence, and delivery confirmations
- Comply with all company policies, safety requirements, and applicable laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of operational objectives
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in expediting, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or a related role (industrial or distribution environment preferred)
- Strong communication and follow-up skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in steel, piping, fittings, flanges, or industrial distribution
- Experience working with quality documentation, mill test reports, or inspection requirements

- May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Office and warehouse environment with occasional exposure to industrial conditions
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
