Lab Assistant - Evening Shift 

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Lab Assistant to join their team! This position is located in Kansas City, Missouri and is 100% onsite.

This role performs routine testing on samples within the Analytical Services Laboratory, providing analytical data supporting process control, quality control, product development, process development, and waste management activities. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical testing according to approved protocols and work instructions
• Prepare solutions, clean glassware, and support daily laboratory operations
• Record, calculate, review, and report analytical results
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment
• Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other laboratory software tools
• Identify and communicate testing issues, equipment concerns, and process improvement opportunities
• Support laboratory safety, housekeeping, inventory management, and waste management activities

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• 1+ year of laboratory experience
• Experience performing routine laboratory testing and sample analysis
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze results against established standards
• Ability to diagnose routine instrument issues with minimal assistance
• Experience documenting, recording, and reporting analytical data accurately
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced laboratory environment

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• 3+ years of laboratory experience
• Experience working in a Quality Control (QC) laboratory environment
• Understanding of HPLC operation
• Understanding of GC operation
• Experience utilizing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and laboratory safety procedures

Work Environment

• Location: Kansas City, MO
• 100% onsite
• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Rotating schedule including weekends and holidays as required

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $15 and $18 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
