Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team! This is a hybrid role located in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX. The Senior Quality Engineer leads the enterprise testing strategy for business and technical systems. This role manages multiple QA engineering teams responsible for developing and executing testing frameworks, automation solutions, and defect management processes across large-scale applications and programs. The position collaborates with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery, system integration, and adherence to enterprise standards while driving innovation and continuous improvement in testing practices.
Duties:
The approximate pay range for this position is between $61.60 and $88.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.

The position collaborates with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery, system integration, and adherence to enterprise standards while driving innovation and continuous improvement in testing practices.
Duties:
- Lead and manage multiple IT and QA teams responsible for delivering high-quality technology solutions across business applications and systems
- Partner with senior business and operational leaders to understand strategic goals and identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology
- Oversee the successful delivery of projects and work requests, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and performance standards
- Manage the full lifecycle of application delivery, including requirements gathering, scope management, testing, deployment, and business change management
- Ensure technology solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and integrate effectively with existing systems
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between development, testing, operations, and release management teams to support software builds, deployments, and system releases
- Oversee software configuration management processes, including build management, environment configuration, and deployment automation
- Monitor project progress, communicate status updates to senior IT and business leadership, and resolve issues that may impact delivery
- Manage and develop a team of IT professionals, including performance management, coaching, career development, and resource planning
- Oversee project budgets, resource allocation, and operational reporting to support overall IT performance and strategic initiatives
- Quality Engineering leadership experience in both mainframe and AWS environments
- Project capacity/utilization planning
- Experience managing large teams of offshore contractors (50+)
- Ability to work across varying timezones
