Job Summary
Our client a leading Retail & Consumer Goods provider is seeking a POS Analyst to join their team! This position is located in Boston, Massachusetts.
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Consultant to join our client's team in designing and evaluating next-generation POS hardware and edge computing architecture for a large Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) environment. This role is based onsite at the Canton, MA support center.
This is not a people management position and does not involve day-to-day POS support. Instead, the role focuses on architecture, evaluating trade-offs, and future-proofing systems—particularly extending hardware lifecycle, minimizing operating system risk, and ensuring the platform can scale alongside evolving software demands, including emerging AI use cases over the next 5–10 years.

Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate current POS hardware and deployment models
- Assess edge-based architectures
- Reduce dependency on POS terminal operating system end-of-support (EOS) timelines
- Enable POS logic to shift off the register where appropriate
- Support fully seamless offline operation in high-volume store environments
- Define optimal workload placement across: POS endpoints, Store-edge infrastructure, and Cloud platforms
- Evaluate hardware and operating system options with a focus on long-term scalability, including support for AI-driven workloads
- Collaborate with the team to deliver clear architectural recommendations, diagrams, and trade-off analyses
- Hands-on experience with large-scale enterprise POS systems in QSR or high-volume retail environments
- Strong experience with payment systems
- Strong experience with peripheral integration
- Strong experience with offline and degraded network scenarios
- Strong understanding of transaction processing
- Proven experience designing solutions around existing POS platforms rather than replacing them
- Data analytics skills
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Location: Boston, Maine
- Hybrid, 4 days onsite, 1 remote
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $70.00 and $77.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
