UX/UI Senior Design Systems Designer
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a UX/UI Senior Design Systems Designer to join their team! This position is remote.
Duties:
- Build and maintain tokens, including color, spacing, typography, radius, opacity, elevation, and overlays in Figma
- Architect scalable, reusable components and modules following atomic methodology
- Translate brand and functional UI designs into systemized variables and repeatable logic
- Implement and maintain variable modes and component variants
- Identify, document, and fix design debt and inconsistencies uncovered in audits
- Partner with engineering on naming conventions, token ingestion, and handoff precision
- Run visual QA for system-level components to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
- Support intake of new components from product teams, module reviews, and cross-functional data science adoption
- Participate in design system sprint cycles: from grooming to retrospectives
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in product/UI/UX design
- 2+ years focused on building design systems
- Expert-level Figma knowledge in variables, libraries, variants, auto layout, and how to debug naming logic and file bloat
- Deep knowledge of design tokens, semantic layers, and best practices for component modularity
- Experience building design systems at scale for B2C apps, e-commerce, or platform teams
- Proven track record of moving fast and shipping components, tokens, and systems with confidence
- Solid understanding of front-end implementation and developer handoff
- Detail-obsessed with an eye for naming, structure, and clean documentation
- Clear, concise communicator who can collaborate across disciplines: design, engineering, product
- Familiarity with Token Studio, Style Dictionary, or other token tooling pipelines
- Experience contributing to design system documentation
- Experience supporting multi-brand or multi-platform systems
- Prior enterprise-level design system work in QSR, retail, or high-growth digital teams

The approximate pay range for this position starting at $130,000 - $140,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
