Our client is seeking an AWS Systems Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Englewood, Colorado.
Duties:
- Support all efforts to simplify and enhance the lab tenant experience
- Code and perform continuous automation testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
- Write programs according to specifications
- Define specifications for complex programs and monitoring solutions
- Monitor and repair critical systems on an as needed basis
- Generate reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Serve as final escalation point to resolve incidents and problems for applications and microservices supported by the team in accordance with identified Service Level Agreements
- Provide system users and management with system analysis and improvement recommendations
- Identify and recommend system design/requirements needs for software enhancements
- Participate in continuous performance improvement sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes and/or standards
- Coordinate with technical teams to analyze and resolve software related problems causing operational difficulties, advising on specialized features and functions
- Maximize the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs
- Follow established configuration/change control processes
- Collaborate with customers and internal/external technical teams to identify software problems and communicate remediation plans
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years IT experience
- 5+ years of software development methodologies
- Deep knowledge with AWS
- Strong experience with technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with common AWS services
- Experience with CI/CD
- Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in the cloud
- Experience with automation tools, frameworks and scripting such as: Python, Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Bash and Perl
- Strong experience working with DevOps engineers to build and deploy infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies and local data center solutions
- Experience with monitoring technologies
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a common culture of excellence
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks
- Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
