Our client is seeking a System Engineer (NOC) to join their team! This position is located Hybrid in Denver, Colorado.
The ideal candidate will excel at incident detection, timely resolution, and clear communication, with a proven track record in NOC or network surveillance roles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal service quality and reliability for our customers.
Duties:
- Monitor network and video service health across multiple platforms, dashboards, and alerting systems to identify anomalies and potential outages
- Respond promptly to alerts, triage incidents, and initiate appropriate escalation procedures to minimize service impact
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Layer 1 issues across DOCSIS, IP, and RF domains
- Perform root-cause analysis to determine corrective actions
- Record incidents, investigations, resolutions, and post-incident findings with clear, consistent, and searchable documentation
- Maintain knowledge base entries for recurring issues
- Implement and verify fixes
- Coordinate with field technicians, network engineers, and vendor support as needed to restore services and validate outcomes
- Monitor service-level indicators (SLIs/SLOs), track incident timelines, and participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce MTTR and prevent recurrence
- Utilize and contribute to tooling such as Jenkins for workflows, Bitbucket/Stash for code and runbooks, and Splunk for log analysis
- Suggest enhancements to monitoring and automation
- Follow internal security, privacy, and compliance policies
- Manage access controls and audit trails as applicable such as: Active Directory and LDAP
- Create or update runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident response playbooks for recurring scenarios
- Participate in on-call rotations as required to support 24/7 operations
- 3+ years in a NOC, network surveillance, or related operations role
- Strong troubleshooting skills across DOCSIS, IP networking, and RF Layer 1
- Familiarity with video delivery systems and metrics
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP concepts
- Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual machines
- Proficiency with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as: Splunk; other SIEMs or NMS
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and code collaboration platforms such as: Jenkins, Bitbucket/Stash is a plus
- Relevant networking or video delivery certifications such as: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP, CWNA, etc. or vendor-specific certifications related to DOCSIS/RF is a plus
- Basic scripting or automation capabilities (PowerShell, Python) to enhance monitoring or remediation workflows is a plus
