Cybersecurity Technology Architect IV

Job Summary
Our client, a leading energy and utility provider, is seeking a Cybersecurity Technology Architect IV to join their team. This is a 47-week contract position, scheduled from October 26, 2026, through September 21, 2027. The role is remote and requires availability from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
The architect will help shape future cybersecurity capabilities by evaluating AI, agentic AI, automation, and emerging security technologies. This person will work across security architecture, engineering, and operations to turn new concepts into practical, secure enterprise solutions.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop current-state and future-state cybersecurity architectures, reference patterns, capability models, and roadmaps
• Evaluate how AI, agentic AI, automation, and orchestration could improve cybersecurity operations
• Identify integration opportunities across identity, vulnerability management, endpoint security, security operations, asset inventory, and analytics
• Assess security controls for AI agents and machine identities, including access, authorization, trust boundaries, governance, and human oversight
• Evaluate emerging security platforms and recommend practical enterprise use cases
• Partner with architects, engineers, operations teams, and vendors to identify dependencies, risks, and implementation approaches
• Present technical assessments and architecture recommendations to technical teams and executive stakeholders

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• 6+ years of combined cybersecurity, IT architecture, engineering, or related technical experience
• Experience designing, evaluating, or implementing enterprise cybersecurity architectures
• Working knowledge across multiple security domains, rather than a single security specialty
• Experience developing architecture patterns, integration approaches, technical strategies, or future-state designs
• Ability to assess complex technologies and translate them into practical enterprise use cases
• Experience collaborating with architects, engineers, security operations, infrastructure teams, developers, and vendors
• Strong written communication and ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with generative AI, agentic AI, AI security, or AI-enabled cybersecurity automation
• Knowledge of machine identities, privileged access, IAM, and Zero Trust architecture
• Experience with vulnerability and exposure management, security posture, or asset discovery
• Familiarity with endpoint security, EDR/XDR, threat detection, SIEM/SOAR, or security analytics
• Experience with security platform integration, API-based automation, or technology consolidation
• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, cloud/security architecture, or relevant vendor certification
• Advanced degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, AI, information systems, or a related field

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $63.00 and $90.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
