Job Summary
Our client, a major U.S. airline, is looking for a Cybersecurity Communications Contractor to support cybersecurity awareness, education, and communications initiatives across the company, 26 week contract, 100% remote. This person will create content such as newsletters, articles, presentations, videos, and infographics, and partner closely with cybersecurity subject matter experts and business stakeholders to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging communications for a non-technical audience. Looking for someone with real hands-on professional writing/editing experience, comfortable owning large-scale, cross-functional comms projects independently, cybersecurity/InfoSec background is a plus but not required.

This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role. 

Core Responsibilities
  • Create engaging content, articles, newsletters, videos, infographics, and presentations, to communicate cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, coordinated messaging on cybersecurity topics
  • Translate complex technical jargon into clear, user-friendly language for employees at all levels
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications initiatives, using feedback for continuous improvement
  • Partner with cybersecurity SMEs, external vendors, and industry partners to gather accurate content
  • Stay current on cybersecurity trends, threats, and regulations to keep materials accurate and relevant

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
  • Professional writing/editing experience (websites, apps, newsletters, presentations, campaigns)
  • Experience working on large-scale communications projects
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency
  • Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication skills
 
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Technical Writing, Marketing, or related field
  • Cybersecurity, information security, risk, compliance, or technology industry experience
  • Experience developing multimedia content, including videos, infographics, and awareness campaigns
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Experience working for a large global enterprise or recognized consumer brand
  • Experience measuring communication effectiveness using feedback and analytics

  • Can manage multiple concurrent projects and shift priorities as needed
 
Work Environment
  • Location: 100% remote, standard business hours (Mon-Fri), no travel required
  • Contract runs 26 weeks, potential for extension
 
Compensation & Benefits 
  • Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $42.00 and $60.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
