Job Summary 
Our client, a leading Wireless Communications service provider, is seeking a Fraud Specialist to support Fraud Management by identifying, investigating, and helping prevent fraudulent activity, identity theft, and policy violations. This role involves handling inbound calls and fraud referrals, reviewing customer and account information, validating identities through multiple internal and external tools, and determining appropriate next steps. The ideal candidate has strong customer service and communication skills, excellent listening abilities, and is comfortable working across multiple computer systems while assisting customers.

This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and investigations to identify, validate, and manage suspected fraudulent activity
  • Review customer information and documentation to authenticate identities and confirm or clear potential fraud
  • Investigate fraudulent orders, identity theft, customer authentication issues, and violations of fraud policies
  • Handle inbound calls and referrals from customers who are victims of fraudulent activity
  • Review information using multiple internal and external systems to assess fraud situations and determine appropriate action 
  • Research fraud cases, analyze relevant data, and draw conclusions based on available information
  • Investigate and respond to fraud escalations, referrals, and other high-priority cases
  • Identify fraud trends and patterns related to fraudulent orders, identity theft, and other types of fraudulent usage
  • Research and notify appropriate internal teams regarding customer verification requirements or potential legal action
  • Participate in developing and implementing policies and procedures designed to identify and deter fraudulent activity
  • Identify opportunities to improve fraud-related processes and recommend solutions to operational issues
  • Participate in team projects and contribute recommendations to improve fraud prevention and investigation processes
  • Communicate with team members through Slack and other internal communication tools
  • Review documents and customer information to validate identity and support fraud decisions
  • Work closely with Fraud Management and other internal teams to resolve fraud-related issues
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in fraud, customer service, or a call center environment
  • 1+ years of experience operating a computer in a Windows-based environment
  • Strong English conversational and communication skills
  • Excellent listening and customer interaction skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens, applications, and systems while speaking with customers on the phone 
  • Strong phone and typing skills 
  • Comfortable reviewing documents and information to validate customer identity
  • Ability to analyze information, conduct research, and make sound decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow fraud policies and procedures
  • Customer service or call center experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Work Environment 
  • Location: Overland Park, KS
  • HYBRID
  • Contract: 6 months
Compensation & Benefits 
  • Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $14.00/hr and $20.00/hr. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
