Azure API Management

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Azure API Management to join their team! This is a remote position. This role is responsible for end-to-end API architecture, development (Python), security, deployment, monitoring, and support.

The ideal candidate will also lead migration of legacy integrations to Azure APIM and help drive engineering best practices, including the use of GenAI tools to improve delivery speed and quality.

Core Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop APIs using Azure services such as: API Management, Functions, Service Bus, Kubernetes, Key Vault
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions
• Migrate legacy APIs and integrations to Azure cloud platforms
• Test, deploy, and maintain applications and APIs across environments
• Troubleshoot production issues and prioritize support tasks
• Break down requirements into technical work and guide junior team members
• Implement API security such as: OAuth 2.0, mTLS, governance policies
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab
• Monitor and troubleshoot using Azure monitoring tools and platforms like Splunk
• Leverage GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance development efficiency

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise development
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Azure API Management and integrations
• 6+ years of experience developing in Python
• Strong understanding of API design, cloud architecture, and integration patterns

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) 

• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform/OpenTofu, and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with event-driven and API-led architectures
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle DBaaS
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk
• Experience with MuleSoft (nice to have)
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Experience mentoring teams and driving engineering standards

Compensation & Benefits 

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and $47.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
