Advisor, Cybersecurity Engineering & Operations

Job Summary
Our client, a leading global technology provider, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer Advisor for a 1-year contract in Round Rock, TX. This role is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and will focus on supporting enterprise logging and telemetry platforms, including Cribl, Elastic, and Corelight.

This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.

Core Responsibilities

• Configure, operate, and monitor log and telemetry pipelines using Cribl, including data routing, filtering, and transformations
• Support Elastic environments by onboarding log sources, validating data quality, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance
• Assist with the deployment, operation, and monitoring of Corelight sensors to ensure reliable network telemetry ingestion
• Troubleshoot logging and data pipeline issues involving data flow, parsing, transport, ingestion, and delivery
• Perform routine operational activities, including platform upgrades, configuration changes, capacity monitoring, documentation updates, and reporting
• Partner with security operations, infrastructure, and application teams to onboard new log sources, address data gaps, and support enterprise detection and monitoring capabilities
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks while following established change management procedures and escalation processes

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise logging, monitoring, security telemetry, or cybersecurity operations platforms
• Hands-on experience with Cribl, including log routing, pipeline configuration, filtering, transformations, and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting Elastic environments, including log onboarding, troubleshooting, data validation, and operational maintenance
• Strong Linux and Windows system administration fundamentals
• Working knowledge of scripting or automation using tools such as Bash or Python
• Experience supporting platforms within cloud, hybrid, or large enterprise environments
• Knowledge of monitoring and telemetry concepts, including data health, throughput, latency, ingestion, and alerting

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with Corelight or similar Network Detection and Response (NDR) technologies
• Experience deploying or supporting network telemetry sensors
• Exposure to enterprise Security Operations or Cyber Defense environments
• Familiarity with security event management, network security, host security, cloud security, or related cybersecurity technologies
• Experience supporting logging and monitoring platforms at enterprise scale
• Experience creating and maintaining operational documentation and technical runbooks
• Familiarity with formal change management processes, platform upgrades, and capacity planning

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $39.00 and $57.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
