Our client, a leading airline provider, is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join their global Technology Risk Management team. This role will focus on strengthening application security across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), developing security standards and controls, and supporting secure application and API development.
Contract Details
- Type: Contract
- Duration: 18 weeks
- Location: Fort Worth, TX
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid — onsite 3 days per week
- Interview Process: Virtual and in-person
- Hours: 8 hours per day
- Assessment: Required
- Design, implement, and maintain application security standards, secure coding requirements, and security controls across the SDLC
- Define and implement application and API security requirements, including secure architecture, authentication, authorization, and data protection controls
- Establish and operationalize application security best practices, including threat modeling, secure design reviews, and vulnerability management
- Configure, maintain, and optimize application security tools including SAST, SCA, DAST, secret scanning, API security, and vulnerability management platforms
- Translate application security policies, standards, and architectural requirements into scalable security controls and governance processes
- Develop security automation and developer-focused security solutions to improve application security and vulnerability management
- Collaborate with security professionals, developers, project teams, and stakeholders to identify and address application security risks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering
- Strong background in application security
- Understanding of application security vulnerabilities across applications developed in multiple programming languages
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#
- Experience using Python, Java, or PowerShell for security automation and security tool integrations
- Experience with application security concepts, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering or related cybersecurity roles
- Experience designing and implementing cloud security solutions and architectures
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security features
- Experience with SAST, SCA, DAST, API security, secret scanning, or vulnerability management tools
- Experience with regulatory compliance and industry standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001
- Airline industry experience
- Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a global team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate security risks and recommendations clearly
- Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing
- Location: Fort Worth, TX
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid — onsite 3 days per week
- Team: Global, collaborative cybersecurity team with experienced security professionals who actively share knowledge and expertise.
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $32.00 and $45.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
