Job Summary
Our client, a leading communications provider, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst I to support business and technology initiatives by gathering requirements, documenting business processes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions. This role is ideal for an early-career Business Analyst with strong communication skills who enjoys working with stakeholders, translating business needs into clear documentation, and supporting projects throughout the software development lifecycle. Candidates should be curious, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of their work while continuing to learn and grow.

Core Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through meetings with business and IT stakeholders
  • Create user stories, process flows, and functional documentation that clearly define business needs
  • Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and ask thoughtful questions to clarify business objectives
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and QA throughout the project lifecycle
  • Answer questions from development and testing teams regarding documented requirements
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure requirements remain up to date throughout the project
  • Research existing processes, related initiatives, and business needs to support project success
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to successful project delivery
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 1+ years of Business Analyst experience, or relevant internships/projects completed during college
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Experience writing user stories and creating process flows
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with business and technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence (or similar documentation tools), and Visio or Lucidchart
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Ability to independently research business processes and existing solutions
  • Experience supporting the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiarity with AI tools to assist with research, documentation, or productivity
  • Experience creating workflow diagrams, business process maps, or functional documentation
  • Exposure to requirements traceability and change management
  • Experience collaborating with development and QA teams

Work Environment
  • Location: Hybrid in St. Louis
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $28.00 and $40.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
