This role will focus on migrating DataStage workloads to Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory, developing scalable data solutions, and supporting enterprise data operations. Our client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with expertise in Azure cloud technologies, data integration, and large-scale data platforms. This role will focus on migrating DataStage workloads to Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory, developing scalable data solutions, and supporting enterprise data operations. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to drive cloud modernization, improve data performance, and deliver secure, reliable analytics capabilities in an Agile environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for design and implementation of code migration from Datastage to Databricks and Azure Data Factory
- Install, set up and configure Datastage/Databricks
- Create high level design documents
- Support application & infrastructure teams troubleshoot the production and non-production issues
- Utilize Agile methodologies, Rally & GitHub tool to accomplish goals
- Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance
- Support the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines
- Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs
- May require occasional off-hours on-call support
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 5+ years software solution development using agile, DevOps, operating in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
- 5+ years data analytics experience using SQL
- 5+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (prefer Microsoft Azure) including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps and Power BI.
- Combination of Development, Administration & Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms required:
- Scripting: Python, Spark, Unix, SQL
- Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake, Azure Data Explorer. Administration skills a plus
- Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps and Azure Functions
- CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform
- BI Analytics Tool Stack - Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana
- Clear understanding on Data Warehousing concept
- Data Governance and Privacy: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID
- Orchestration: Azure Data Factory, Tivoli
- 5+ years software solution development using agile, dev ops, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
- Azure (Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, Event Hub, ASA) experience
- Azure Development Track Certification (preferred)
- Spark Certification (preferred)

- Location: Fort Worth, TX
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $44.00 and $54.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
