Database Administrator

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Database Administrator to join their team! This position is located in Hopkins, Minnesota. 
 
Duties:

• Provide comprehensive support for the database activities associated with the project initiative and modernization efforts, ensuring stability, performance, and alignment with project goals
• Utilize productivity and collaboration tools, such as: Microsoft Teams, Outlook, JIRA, ServiceNow, and Clarity, effectively and in a timely manner to manage tasks, track progress, and communicate updates
• Design and implement efficient, scalable, and high-performing database schemas to support evolving application and business requirements
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance and reliability issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system functionality
• Collaborate with application development teams to analyze, debug, and optimize SQL queries and database-related processes
• Participate in regular meetings with the database and applications teams to provide updates, discuss challenges, and align on technical direction and priorities

Desired Skills/Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in DB2 database schema planning, design, and implementation
• 3+ years of experience developing and implementing database utility jobs 
• 3+ years of experience monitoring and analyzing DB2 database performance and system health
• 3+ years of experience in SQL query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• 3+ years of experience responding to and resolving database incidents, errors, and operational issues
• Experience with application delivery processes and tools such as GitLab or GitHub
• Strong understanding of information and data management principles, including data integrity and security
• Familiarity with z/OS Mainframe environments, including CICS, MQ, and storage technologies from EMC/Dell and IBM

The approximate pay range for this position is between $37.24 and $53.20. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
