Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their team. The Mainframe Developer is responsible for designs and builds relational database models and defines data requirements to meet the business needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, SMEs, analysts, and development teams to understand business processes, data requirements, source systems, data mappings, and data consumption needs
- Translate business requirements, processes, and rules into logical and physical data models, source-to-target mappings, and data integration specifications
- Develops logical and physical database models
- Writes scripts and commands for data manipulation
- Design and govern reusable test data patterns, provisioning approaches, masking strategies, synthetic data solutions, and environment refresh processes
- Define and implement test data strategies that support functional, regression, integration, performance, automation, and modernization testing needs
- Design and govern reusable test data patterns, test data provisioning approaches, masking strategies, synthetic data solutions, and environment refresh processes
- Document data models, test data design patterns, source-to-target mappings, provisioning processes, standards, and best practices for repeatable enterprise use
- Ensure test data solutions comply with data privacy, protection, retention, classification, and regulatory requirements for sensitive customer and financial data

- Experience doing Production Support
- Use of CA7 Scheduling tool
- Need to be able to do analysis on the as-is and come up with design of the to be
- Use of Jira
- Banking Domain Knowledge
- Strong experience in data analysis, data architecture, database design, test data management, quality engineering, or software delivery
- Proficiency writing and optimizing SQL queries for data discovery, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting
- Experience analyzing relational databases, mainframe data structures, files, batch jobs, APIs, and downstream data consumers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across complex, interconnected systems
- Collaboration across product, engineering, quality, architecture, and operations teams
- Data governance and compliance mindset
- Clear documentation of data models, mappings, standards, and best practices for repeatable enterprise use
- Ability to build technical relationships and lead design efforts that deliver innovative solutions
- Location: Hybrid in Hopkins, Minnesota
- Hybrid: Onsite 3+ days per week - 2 remote
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $44.00 and $63.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
