Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Plano, Texas. 
 
Duties:

• Lead mechanical design engineering for automation systems
• Help build prototypes and test solutions

Desired Skills/Experience:

• 10+ years experience doing automated machine design
• 5+ years being a lead designer
• 5+ years Solidworks experience
• Strong automation and machine building design experience
• Ability to design the way from concept to detailed design of a full system
• Automation design experience should include experience incorporating steppers and servo motors, all types of sensors, complex motion systems or robots, etc.
• Ability to calculate/estimate and then spec automation components to incorporate into designs
• Automated sorting or pick and place system design experience is a plus
• Should have experience integrating designs with control/electrical systems
• General machinery/automation/robotics safety and ergonomic design familiarity
• Experience with design compliance to FDA/NSF and/or ANSI/ISO is a plus
• Food/kitchen equipment or food processing equipment design experience is a plus

The approximate pay range for this position is between $59.00 and $85.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
