Our client a leading Technology provider is seeking a VP, Cloud & Platform Engineering to join their team! This position is remote.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on VP, Cloud & Platform Engineering to define and execute the future-state technology vision for a fast-growing organization. This leader will be responsible for modernizing infrastructure, optimizing cloud spend, and building a scalable, high-performing platform that supports data, AI, and product innovation. This role goes beyond traditional infrastructure leadership, owning the transformation to a cloud-native, AI-enabled ecosystem while elevating engineering maturity across a globally distributed team.

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on VP, Cloud & Platform Engineering to define and execute the future-state technology vision for a fast-growing organization. This leader will be responsible for modernizing infrastructure, optimizing cloud spend, and building a scalable, high-performing platform that supports data, AI, and product innovation. This role goes beyond traditional infrastructure leadership, owning the transformation to a cloud-native, AI-enabled ecosystem while elevating engineering maturity across a globally distributed team.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise cloud and platform strategy, with a strong focus on AWS native services and AI enablement (including Claude)
- Drive migration from legacy systems (including Oracle) to modern cloud platforms such as Aurora, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL
- Champion containerized and microservices based architectures leveraging Kubernetes
- Partner closely with Data Engineering teams to support scalable data platforms (Snowflake, event-driven architectures, etc.)
- Ensure infrastructure is built to support high volume data processing, analytics, and AI/ML workloads
- Implement best practices across DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and system reliability
- Establish governance around cloud cost management, security, and performance
- Partner with executive leadership on the company’s transition toward AI first capabilities
- Build infrastructure that supports increased automation, intelligent systems, and future product innovation
- 12+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, and platform leadership, including executive-level ownership
- Proven ability to define and execute cloud transformation strategies in AWS environments
- Deep experience with: AWS ecosystem, Kubernetes, Java/Python, Aurora, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Snowflake
- Experience leading large-scale migrations (e.g., Oracle to cloud-native architectures)
- Experience supporting data engineering and event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
- Demonstrated success leading and scaling global engineering teams, including offshore models

- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $200,000 - $300,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
