Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Englewood, Colorado.
Duties:
- Manage and maintain the enterprise monitoring environment using Zabbix, ensuring visibility into device health, uptime, and connectivity across the organization
- Configure and optimize Zabbix agents, proxies, and rules to monitor up/down status, port activity, and overall system performance
- Develop and refine monitoring dashboards and alerting mechanisms to detect and resolve outages before they escalate into major incidents
- Integrate Zabbix monitoring with other enterprise systems and tools, such as Jira, for automated issue tracking and escalation workflows
- Utilize APIs and community strings to ensure accurate device registration and alignment within the monitoring system
- Troubleshoot connectivity and health issues across lab devices, servers, and PDUs to maintain a stable and resilient environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by refining monitoring methodologies, automating repetitive tasks, and documenting best practices
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering or NOC Operations role
- Hands-on experience with Zabbix or similar monitoring platforms: Nagios, Prometheus, etc.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals and device management: SNMP, community strings, port monitoring
- Experience with Jira or other ticketing tools
- Exposure to PDUs and infrastructure-level device management preferred
- Basic understanding of APIs and system-to-system integrations

The approximate pay range for this position starting at $85,000-95,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
