Systems Administrator

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their team! This position is located in San Francisco, California. 
 
Duties:

• Participate in technology evaluations and related projects
• Provide data-driven recommendations for improvement
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT infrastructure and system issues efficiently
• Maintain and update system patch levels to ensure security and performance
• Demonstrate enterprise compliance with established standards using objective metrics and reporting
• Respond to, investigate, and remediate system incidents to minimize downtime
• Develop and maintain installation scripts and programs to streamline product deployment
• Establish and uphold hardened system configuration standards and conventions
• Automate manual processes by configuring tools, scripts, and scheduled tasks
• Utilize command-line scripting and task scheduling to enhance efficiency and reduce human error
• Ensure all enterprise changes are properly tracked, documented, and controlled
• Create and maintain documentation for standards, best practices, and policies across Windows, Linux, and Solaris server platforms
• Provide advanced technical support and field escalations from cross-functional teams 

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 7+ years in systems engineering or systems administration within an enterprise services environment
• 6+ years of combined experience in technical support, network administration, systems engineering, or security administration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and the ability to develop well-considered solutions and recommendations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and technical functions
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Wintel, Sun, Linux, and VMware platforms, covering both hardware and software
• Solid understanding and practical experience in network, systems, and storage management, including implementation, maintenance, change management, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools used for system performance tracking and issue resolution
• Highly motivated, quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapts to evolving technologies and priorities
• Willingness to travel periodically within 50 miles of the home office and occasionally to the San Francisco Bay Area

The approximate pay range for this position is between $51.00 and $74.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
