Duties:
- Participate in technology evaluations and related projects
- Provide data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT infrastructure and system issues efficiently
- Maintain and update system patch levels to ensure security and performance
- Demonstrate enterprise compliance with established standards using objective metrics and reporting
- Respond to, investigate, and remediate system incidents to minimize downtime
- Develop and maintain installation scripts and programs to streamline product deployment
- Establish and uphold hardened system configuration standards and conventions
- Automate manual processes by configuring tools, scripts, and scheduled tasks
- Utilize command-line scripting and task scheduling to enhance efficiency and reduce human error
- Ensure all enterprise changes are properly tracked, documented, and controlled
- Create and maintain documentation for standards, best practices, and policies across Windows, Linux, and Solaris server platforms
- Provide advanced technical support and field escalations from cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7+ years in systems engineering or systems administration within an enterprise services environment
- 6+ years of combined experience in technical support, network administration, systems engineering, or security administration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and the ability to develop well-considered solutions and recommendations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and technical functions
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Wintel, Sun, Linux, and VMware platforms, covering both hardware and software
- Solid understanding and practical experience in network, systems, and storage management, including implementation, maintenance, change management, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools used for system performance tracking and issue resolution
- Highly motivated, quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapts to evolving technologies and priorities
- Willingness to travel periodically within 50 miles of the home office and occasionally to the San Francisco Bay Area
