Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with 7+ years of experience managing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise database environments. This role is responsible for maintaining production database health, ensuring data integrity and recovery, coordinating deployments, and patching, and supporting business continuity. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases across production, development, and test environments
- Conduct performance tuning, health assessments, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution
- Ensure data integrity, availability, recoverability, and compliance with database standards
- Coordinate database deployments, patching, change tickets, and Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation
- Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call rotations, and support production bridge calls
- Partner with developers, system administrators, managers, and architects while mentoring junior team members
- Participate in shift handovers, document procedures, and maintain current database patches and standards
Required Skills/Experience
- 7+ years of database administration experience
- Strong hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in production environments
- Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of backup and recovery, data integrity, and database security best practices
- Experience coordinating database deployments, patching, and change management
- Ability to develop technical documentation, including MOPs and operational procedures
- Experience supporting critical production systems and participating in on-call rotations
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale, high-availability database environments
- Experience with capacity planning and database infrastructure optimization
- Experience mentoring junior database administrators
- Familiarity with 24/7 operational support and production incident management

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $44.00 and $63.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
