Our client, a leading energy provider, is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join their team. This position will focus on the hands-on engineering, build, administration, and optimization of highly available enterprise Oracle database environments supporting business-critical applications.
Contract Details
- Contract length: Approximately 26 weeks
- Contract dates: September 14, 2026–March 12, 2027
- Location: Oakland, California
- Install, configure, build, and maintain Oracle Grid Infrastructure, RAC, ASM, Clusterware, and Data Guard environments
- Design and support highly available Oracle database architectures using RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate
- Perform database provisioning, patching, cloning, upgrades, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
- Conduct advanced database, SQL, RAC, ASM, and operating-system performance tuning
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle GoldenGate, including Extracts, Replicats, Distribution Services, and performance metrics
- Develop and maintain Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python scripts to automate database deployment, monitoring, patching, and maintenance
- Troubleshoot complex database, cluster, replication, locking, contention, and performance issues while maintaining shared technical documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Extensive senior-level, hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience within large enterprise environments
- End-to-end Oracle database build experience, including installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and support
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, Clusterware, and Data Guard
- Experience installing, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Oracle GoldenGate
- Advanced database and SQL performance-tuning experience across database, RAC, ASM, and operating-system layers
- Strong Shell scripting skills and comfort using Python, SQL, and PL/SQL for database automation
- Experience administering Oracle 19c or more recent Oracle database versions
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate 26AI Microservices architecture
- Experience with RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, AIX, and Linux environments
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and database automation using Ansible
- Knowledge of Transportable Tablespaces, Data Pump, Database Migration Services, and large-scale database re-platforming
- Experience with TDE, SSL certificates, advanced partitioning, Information Lifecycle Management, or UC4 workload automation
- Oracle Certified Professional or Oracle Certified Master certification
- Team-oriented and collaborative

- Location: Oakland, CA
- Candidates must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area
- Work Model: Hybrid, requiring onsite work every Tuesday
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $49.00 and $70.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
