Our client is seeking a Mainframe Programmer to join their team! This position is hybrid in Brookfield, WI; Minneapolis, MN; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC; St. Louis, MO

Core Responsibilities
- Work on an agile team on the Product and Rewards applications
- Attend Team agile ceremonies
- Understand JCL, Job streams, and CA-7
- Coding, Unit Testing, Integration testing, and User acceptance testing
- Develop, test, operate, and maintain products
- Take full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
- Analyze failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements
- Apply feedback from code reviews to meet engineering standards
- Conduct code reviews to guide best practices and ensure compliance with development procedures
- Review tasks critically, ensuring they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery
- Anticipate and communicate blockers or delays before escalation is needed
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Mainframe COBOL
- DB2
- JCL
- 5+ years of experience with COBOL in enterprise environments
- Expertise in RPG400, RPG III, COBOL, or SYNON within an AS/400 environment, or COBOL/C in mid-range platforms such as DEC VAX or HP3000
- Experience as an AS/400 Programmer, VAX Programmer, or HP Programmer
- Proficient in full software development life cycle, particularly in developing and supporting business applications
- Skilled in modifying and enhancing existing applications to meet evolving business needs
- Familiarity with high-volume, large-scale batch or online processing systems

- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and $54.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
